Breast Centers in NH
The diagnosis and treatment of breast disease requires the interaction of
specialists with many different kinds of expertise. These include, radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists,
plastic surgeons, physical therapists, social workers, counselors and nurses.
A breast center attempts to organize these services to deliver a
coordinated, integrated, multidisciplinary approach to the patient. Breast
centers can be geographic, with all services available under on roof, or
they can be virtual, organizing the interaction of diverse services located
at different locations.
The National Consortium of Breast Centers is an informational
resource to breast health professionals and encourages development of breast centers and
research. Their web site provides listings of New
Hampshire breast centers and their available services.
The New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition
is a New Hampshire-based advocacy
and educational organization.
